In order to offer humanized care to patients diagnosed with COVID-19, who have not evolved to an ICU stay but need medical follow-up, the city of Jaboatão dos Guararapes has implanted a differentiated campaign hospital, with beds structured per ward (fewer beds per ward) and video-conference room that allows patients to contact family members. The objective of the Triage and Treatment Center for Coronavirus - CTTC, as it is being called, is to provide patients with medical care and emotional comfort so that they can react to the disease more quickly, without evolving to ICU care. The CTTC offers 131 rear beds and stabilization, equipped with respirators and oxygen concentrators, among other specialized equipment. The referrals to the new campaign hospital for COVID-19 take place through the city's regulation center, which consolidates the demands of the city's emergency units. The CTTC will also receive patients discharged from ICUs, who still need medical care. Patients with worsening clinical need for intensive care units will be transferred to ICU beds in a regulated manner.
The reference unit for COVID-19 at Jaboatão dos Guararapes started its activities on 05/18/2020 and to date (05/22/2020) it has 20 patients admitted.
