Manresa City Council wants to reach all the people who are in a situation of vulnerability due to the public health emergency and pandemic caused by COVID-19. For this reason, the council has called on all citizens to inform Social Services of possible situations of people in need of food, medicine or other aspects, who live alone and do not have a relative, neighbor or acquaintance who can bring them the most essential purchase.
The City Council, with the support of organizations, has about twenty volunteers who form the Community Support Group and who, duly protected, are carrying out food and medicine distribution tasks to the vulnerable people detected.
A protocol has been developed in order to be able to monitor people who are in a situation of vulnerability and people who are part of the Community Support Group.
The Department of Labor, Social Affairs and Families of the Government of Catalonia issued recommendations aimed at solidarity initiatives arising from the mobilization of citizens in support of vulnerable people in the context of the health emergency.
