The Imperial College London compared the control of the Covid-19 pandemic in 14 Brazilian capitals and demonstrated that factors such as investments in health resources, optimization of health care and adequate preparation to face the pandemic were essential for Belo Horizonte's performance in fighting the disease. The study indicates that if all the Brazilian capitals evaluated in the research had had the same conduct adopted by Belo Horizonte, around 328,000 deaths would have been avoided in the country.
