The municipality of Barcelona has reorganised its telephone operated home care service to contact 3,000 users, mainly elderly and dependent persons, on a daily basis, to inform them, advise them and answer any queries about Covid-19. They also receive recommendations on how to organise their time and activities and exercises they can do while they are confined to their homes. This daily contact means the City Council Telecare Service ensures their users’ basic needs are covered.

The Barcelona City Council Municipal Telecare Service is a permanent home care service provided 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This enables its users, mainly elderly and dependent people, to be connected with a care centre that manages the necessary services for attending to an emergency situation.
